The Small Group Ministry at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church helps make our vision of “Connecting People to Christ and to One Another to Serve the World” become a very real part of our members’ lives.
First: Our Small Groups seek to encourage people to know more about our amazing God and His incredible love for us as we are told in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” We begin with that amazing gift of grace at the center of each one of our Small Groups.
Second: Our Small Groups seek to connect our members in meaningful relationships that will endure the test of time as they reflect the unconditional love of Jesus Christ to one another. We seek to build on the love and mercy we have been shown and encourage our groups to be a reflection on that grace to one another and to the people they come in contact with each day.
Third: Our Small Groups will work to equip our members for ministry so they can serve the world as Disciples of Christ. Making an impact in people’s lives in both physical and spiritual ways as each group works to become involved in the ministry of Mount Calvary by serving the world they live in!
We are blessed that many of our Small Group Ministry leaders have been through ChristCare Group training that has given them knowledge, ability, and passion for connecting and caring for people in a Christ-centered community. As the old “Cheers” theme song says, “Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came.”
It is our prayer that you can find that kind of caring connection here at Mount Calvary, through one of our Small Groups. If you need more information about one of our small groups, please speak with group leader or Pastor Pete. If interested in joining a Small Group or starting one, please contact Pastor Pete for details & support!
