  • Our church staff and Elders are making the Today’s Light Bible two-year reading plan a part of their daily devotions. The congregation is invited to join in this daily devotional reading. This week’s readings are:

    Week 105

    Monday: Revelation 20:1-15

    Tuesday: Revelation 21:1-17

    Wednesday: Revelation 22:1-21

  • Sadly, time to say “Good-bye” again to another beloved vicar! This time, we send off Vicar Jonathan on Sunday, July 17 at 12:30 in the MFH. It is always so hard to let these wonderful young men, leave our family! Please sign up ASAP on the sheet at the Information Desk. Each family is asked to bring a casserole or side dish to share. It is important that you sign up, so we can plan on how many to seat and serve. You can be sure there will be a large crowd there to wish him well! Sign up today.

  • Red Cross Blood Drive: The next blood drive at MCLC is next month, Thursday, July 21, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The Red Cross is accepting reservations now at redcrossblood.org.

  • The Next Voter's Meeting is Sunday, June 26: We would encourage our members to attend our next Voter's Meeting. Lunch will be served immediately following our 10:45 am Worship Service. You can check out some of the important topics for discussion in the June Newsletter.

  • Summer Sermon Series on Galatians This weekend we are beginning a Summer Sermon Series through the book of Galatians. The theme of this series is "Finding Freedom in the Gospel". You were imprisoned by your sin, your death, and your jailer, the devil. But in Christ, you have been set free! He has exonerated you by suffering your punishment, paying for your crimes, and even taking your eternal death sentence. He has released you from your prison and set you free to live a free life!

  • 7 Bridges Ministry (TAG-WAM): WAM is short for Wednesday Afternoon Ministry. While these activities are not always in the afternoon, they are on Wednesdays throughout the summer so that youth can more easily set work schedules. This Wednesday, June 15th, we will be heading up to Atlanta to support the “7 Bridges” ministry that cares for the homeless population living under the overpasses. The day will go from 8-5 and is for High School Youth only. There is no charge and lunch will be provided.

  • Houston County Meals on Wheels program is seeking volunteer drivers to deliver meals to seniors and disabled people who are in need and have difficulty feeding themselves for a variety of reasons. Volunteers generally commit at least 2 times each month in the morning for up to 2 hours. For information on becoming a volunteer, go to the Meals on Wheels website, hocomow.org or call 478-328-6070.

  • The Board of Outreach is looking into doing a float for the 2022 Warner Robins and/or Centerville Christmas parade(s). We will accept offers for float platforms (trailers, flatbed trucks, etc.), however the first order of business is locating a place to work. That will determine what size platform we can work with and what we can do with it. Both parades are December 3rd, so, with time off for Thanksgiving, would probably want a couple of workdays the other Saturdays in November, plus some weeknights other than Wednesdays. Preferably the work location would have power for lights and tools, plus protection from the weather, and, even better, be able to be secured in some fashion. Restrooms available to the volunteers are also a big plus. Years ago, we have worked in from a single car garage and up to a railroad wheel overhaul facility (10,000 sq ft plus). If you have a garage, workshop, barn, warehouse or any work area we could use, we would love to hear from you. Please let Mike Hopf know at mmtmlbhopf@yahoo.com, or any Outreach member - Pastor Howe, Debbie Hardy, Bennett Buetow, Bruce Bauman, or Jeff Townsend.

  • This year LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) turns 80 years old. To help celebrate this milestone, our national office has requested that each church select projects/missions that would include the number 80. Our LWML voted to have a goal of giving 80 jars of jelly to our local food bank as they always have plenty of peanut butter but no jelly. We want to include all church members in achieving this goal so you will see jelly included every week on the food bank list. Updates will be given indicating how close we are to achieving our goal so watch our progress on the poster graph in the Narthex.

We are approaching our goal of collecting 80 jars of jelly for the food bank in celebration of LWML’s 80th birthday. As of today’s count (April 5th), we have 60 jars that have been donated. Thanks so much and keep them coming!

    New!

The LWML Ladies would like for you to donate 80 coins in honor of LWML’s 80th Anniversary on May’s 5th Sunday (28th & 29th). They will be standing at the exit doors as you leave worship to receive your coins.

  • Sing with us this summer! All 3rd through 8th graders (the grade you will be going into in the fall) who LOVE to sing, are invited to join us for Mount Calvary’s Worship Rocks- Worship Choir Camp. Camp this year will be Monday through Friday June 20- 24 from 1:00pm-3:00pm, and Saturday June 25th from 4:30pm- 7:30pm. Together, through the week, we will grow in our friendships with each other and our faith in God, while we learn wonderful worship songs and hymns, scripture, singing skills, and leadership and performance techniques. On Saturday June 25th at 6pm, we will share the songs and scripture we learned, and the worship art we have created, with our friends and family at Mount Calvary. All are welcome to worship choir camp, and we encourage you to invite a friend or neighbor to join you. Registration forms are available at the welcome desk in the narthex.

  • This program is designed to connect the youth and young adults participating in this summer’s National Youth Gathering with members, while at the same time raising funds to help reduce the cost of the gathering for these participants. Information/donation forms are available at the welcome center.

  • Mount Calvary collects aluminum cans for recycling. Profits from this go to the Social Ministry Board to help pay for holiday food baskets. Single cans may be placed in containers in the old kitchen (by the back door), in the Fellowship Hall, and in the Annex (by the soda machine). Bundles of cans may be deposited at the collection point near the dumpster in the back parking lot.

  • If you want a current to-the-minute church directory, just call or e-mail the church office. It only takes a minute for me to create a PDF that’s easy to use and up-to-date, then email it to you. – Jack

  • Our High School Youth gather on the first and third Sunday of the month from 6:30-8 pm for games, food, movies, and Bible Study. New students are always welcome!

  • Every Sunday Night at 8:30 at Pastor Pete’s house (413 Erin Way). During the summer our schedule will be a little different.  This week we will meet at 7:00 for a Taco Bar and Bible Study. This group is for anyone out of high school and under 30ish.  We are studying the Diving Drama of the Bible.
