what it means to be "lutheran"

Mount Calvary, as a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (1.8 M members in the United States), accepts and preaches the Bible-based message of Christ crucified. Martin Luther, who was one of the many, inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The reformation lead Christendom back to the centrality of Christ's death and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins, life , and salvation.  The Gospel centered teachings of the Lutheran Confessions can be summarized in three phrases:

Grace alone | Faith alone | Scripture alone
