What is TAG? Our Ministry to Middle and High School youth goes by the name of TAG. TAG is short for Teens About God but the name goes much deeper then that. When a person “TAGs” something they are either (1) marking it as there own or (2) playing a game when one person is “it” and is trying to make other people it as well by touching them. Both of those definitions apply to our Youth Ministry. To begin with we are “TAGged” by God when we are marked as His own through the blood of Jesus Christ. Then we are called to go and make disciples of all nations, basically TAGging them to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them.
Our Vision for Ministry: Our vision for doing ministry with youth reflects the vision of Mount Calvary.
Connecting People To Jesus: Through worship, study, and prayer we encourage young people to grow in their relationship with God as they come to know about God’s amazing love for them summed up in Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His love for us in that while we were still sinner, Jesus died for us.” That is where we start, as sinners who rely on God’s grace.
Connecting People to One Another: The first thing wrong in God’s creation was not sin, it was that Adam was alone (look it up). In our sinful – broken world we are all looking for a place of belonging we can call home. Building on God’s amazing love for us, we work to create a place where youth can come and be connected in a Christ-centered community, a place there they can belong.
To Serve The World: Through leadership development, mission trips, and service projects we encourage youth to look beyond themselves to serve the world they live in. We work with the homeless, handicapped, elderly, & young pretty much serving wherever we can to share the love of Jesus Christ with the world we live in.
